Bachelor Teaching Degree Program
The Bachelor Teaching Degree Program - Music Education has a standard period of study of 8 semesters and includes study components at the HMDK Stuttgart and at a university (usually Stuttgart, Hohenheim, or Tübingen). In addition to the Music program at HMDK Stuttgart, a scientific subject at one of the universities is also required, along with courses in educational sciences and an orientation internship. The standard study period for the university subject is 6 semesters.
This Bachelor' course of study is followed by a Master of Education at HMDK Stuttgart and a university. This degree is a prerequisite for the teaching internship (Referendariat).
Instead of the scientific subject, you have the option to choose the Specialization in Jazz/Pop or the field of Church Music B. Both the specialization in Jazz/Pop and Church Music B must be started no later than the 3rd semester of the teaching degree program and require a separate aptitude test.
