Executive Board

The President, Chancellor, and three Vice-presidents form the executive management of the university, known as the Executive Board.

The President leads the Executive Board and represents the university in all external matters. Within the university, the President chairs the Senate, appoints professors, nominates deans, and appoints Heads of institutes, among other responsibilities.

The Chancellor is responsible for managing the administration and the university's budget.

The Vice-presidents are elected by the Senate upon the recommendation of the President. Each of them is assigned specific areas of responsibility:

Vice-president for Academic Affairs and Artistic Research

Vice-president for Third Mission and Scientific Research

Vice-president for Artistic Development and Precollege Education

One of the central tasks of the Executive Board is the medium- and long-term development of the university. The Executive Board is in constant consultation with the Senate and the University Council, implementing their decisions. The Executive Board, in collaboration with the committees, prepares the structural and development plan, negotiates agreements with the ministry, develops the budget plan, addresses issues such as digitalization and quality management, and incorporates topics like gender equality and climate protection into the university.
