Stefan Fehlandt received his musical education at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin.
The focus of his artistic work is the internationally highly regarded Vogler Quartet, of which he has been a founding member since 1985.
With the quartet, he is responsible for his own concert series and festivals, including at the Berlin Konzerthaus, in Sligo (Ireland), the Chamber Music Days in Homburg (Saar), as well as the multiple award-winning "Nordhessische Kindermusiktage" in Kassel.
Stefan Fehlandt is also a sought-after chamber musician and soloist beyond the quartet, collaborating with partners such as Boris Pergamenschikow, David Geringas, Daniel Müller-Schott, Isabelle Faust, Christian Tetzlaff, Antje Weithaas, Lars Vogt, and the Trio Wanderer. His versatility is also evident in his participation in projects of the "Akademie für Alte Musik".
He is a guest at renowned German and international festivals such as the Dresden Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Music Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Salzburg Festival, the "Spannungen" Festival (Heimbach), Hitzacker, Moritzburg, Delft, Risør, among others.
Since 2007, Stefan Fehlandt has been a professor of chamber music and viola at the Universitry of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart. In addition, he is frequently a juror at competitions and foundations, gives master classes and workshops at venues such as Jeunesse Musicales, various state music academies, the Karl Klingler Foundation, the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg/Hohenems, as well as in Berlin, Stockholm, Seville, Sydney, Cincinnati, Toronto, and Montreal. He is also a regular guest at the master classes and concerts of the AVEM festival in Aigues-Vives (Southern France).
Since May 2017, he has been Vice-President for Curriculum Development and Precollege Education. In January 2024, he was re-elected as Vice-President with a focus on Artistic Development and Precollege Education.
