Sup­ple­men­tary Studies In­stru­men­tal/Vocal Didactics

The supplementary studies in instrumental/vocal didactics can be completed following a traditional music degree. It is aimed at graduates of bachelor's and master's programs with an artistic focus who wish to further qualify in music education.

The supplementary studies in instrumental/vocal didactics provide basic and advanced knowledge and skills for teaching activities as an instrumental or singing teacher. It qualifies for application to a public music school and for the entrance examination for the Master in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy.

The study lasts 2 semesters and is subject to fees (300 € per semester). It includes 14-22 credits. The modules in the supplementary studies in instrumental/vocal didactics correspond to the pedagogical modules in the bachelor's study plans with an educational focus (fundamentals of instrumental pedagogy, main subject-specific didactics, teaching practice, internships, etc.). The study concludes with a certificate from the HMDK Stuttgart, accompanied by a transcript of records (detailed proof of the studied modules).

Admission requirements: Completed artistic or artistic-pedagogical music studies (bachelor's or diploma), language skills at level B2, successful entrance examination.

The entrance examination takes place annually in the winter semester, and also in the summer semester for the main subject piano.
