Master Conducting
The aim of the study is to further develop the artistic personality as well as professionalize conducting and reflective competencies. The graduates should be able to independently lead professional orchestras and professional choirs at a high artistic level. Certain Master's programs have a specific set of mandatory courses, in addition to broadly defined elective courses where you can choose additional classes freely.
Specifically, in the Master Conducting, you are expected to acquire the ability to:
- Conduct at a high artistic level
- Plan and conduct rehearsals excellently
- Successfully meet the demands of a répétiteur in instrumental piano when working with singers
- Read and interpret scores of all kinds in a differentiated manner and present them on the piano, as well as perform piano reductions artistically convincingly from all eras and styles
- Reflect in writing on specific professionally relevant competencies through work in the areas of instrumentation, editing practice, and analysis.
Alternatively, in Choral Conducting, you are expected to be able to:
- Conduct at a high artistic level
- Plan and conduct rehearsals excellently
- Artistically rehearsing with singers
- Perform scores and piano reductions artistically convincingly from all eras and styles
- Have extensive vocal competencies essential for working with a professional choir
- Acquire specific professionally relevant competencies through written reflection in the areas of instrumentation, editing practice, and analysis.
