Recognition of study credits at the HMDK Stuttgart is carried out by the Vice-Rector for Studies and Student Administration.
Students returning from abroad present their documents to the relevant Vice-Rector during the office hours usually scheduled for this purpose on Tuesdays.
The recognition is in accordance with the Lisbon Convention and is regulated accordingly in all study and examination regulations:
Study credits and degrees obtained in programs at foreign public or officially recognized higher education institutions in the European Union sector of higher education will be recognized, provided that there is no significant difference in terms of acquired competencies compared to the credits or degrees to be replaced. Recognition aims at continuing studies, taking exams, pursuing further studies, or admission to a doctoral program.
The applicant is responsible for providing sufficient information about the credit to be recognized. The burden of proof that an application does not meet the recognition requirements lies with the relevant Vice-Rector who conducts the recognition process.
The credit points listed in the study plans of HMDK Stuttgart are determined based on the workload and detailed in the module descriptions according to contact hours and self-study hours.
Upon return from abroad, the study credits earned abroad are recognized. The conversion to ECTS points is based on the study plans of HMDK Stuttgart, meaning that students demonstrate the content equivalence and receive recognition that is conducive to further studies in Stuttgart.
Thus, different evaluations of modules at different locations do not lead to disadvantages regarding the degree to be obtained at HMDK Stuttgart.
