Application period: 24 July–25 August 2026 for the 2026/27 winter semester
A special entrance exam will be held for the MA Theory and Practice of Experimental Performance for the winter semester 2026/2027. Applications may be submitted from 24 July to 25 August 2026. As a general rule, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is required; in justified exceptional cases, admission may also be granted on the basis of relevant professional experience. Furthermore, applicants must demonstrate exceptional artistic talent in the field of performance. The working languages of the MA programme are German and English.
The entrance examination consists of two parts: first, you must submit your application documents – including your CV, letter of motivation, portfolio and response to a written assignment – by email. Following a successful pre-selection process, shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an in-person examination on 8 September 2026. This comprises the presentation of a performative work, a group working session and an individual interview. Detailed information on the application documents, the application fee and the entry requirements can be found under Master Theory and Practice of Experimental Performance.
