Your online presence is often the first impression you make. Before someone attends your concert, visits your exhibition, or listens to your music, chances are they'll see your Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. Whether you're applying for opportunities, trying to reach new audiences, or connecting with collaborators, knowing how to present yourself online has become an essential part of building a career as an artist. This course will give you the foundations to understanding today's digital landscape and how to use it to your advantage.

In this introductory workshop, you'll get an overview of how social media works and how you can use it to support your artistic career without letting it take over your life. We'll explore the major platforms, how algorithms influence what people see, what makes content engaging, and how to communicate your work in a way that feels authentic.

You'll also learn simple strategies for growing a community, avoiding common mistakes, and creating content with purpose rather than just posting for the sake of it. Along the way, we'll look at examples from the music and arts world and discuss practical tips that you can start using immediately.

Think of this course as your social media starter kit: no complicated marketing jargon, just the essential knowledge every artist should have to navigate the digital world with confidence.
