The StudioOrchestra is exclusively made up of students studying music education and serves as a teaching and learning orchestra for conducting lessons within the music education program. The students work on programs in weekly rehearsals and present them in concerts, covering a wide range of repertoire.

In addition to the crucial opportunity for conductors to actively improve their conducting and rehearsal techniques, rehearsal planning, ear training, communication skills, etc., the ensemble also offers instrumentalists the opportunity to passively gain conducting experience by observing and developing these parameters in anticipation of their own future conducting experiences. The artistic direction of the ensemble is led by Prof. Richard Wien.
