Resonanzräume - Chamber Music Festival
Music is direct communication on an emotional level that is understood independently of linguistic barriers. This realization is experienced by every performing musician in their work, most notably in chamber music. When playing music together and working on it, it becomes evident how direct and unambiguous musical language is. On the other hand, talking about music carries the risk of many misunderstandings because each person "translates" music into language differently. The immediacy of making music together, as well as the unusual closeness as equal partners, often make chamber music projects with teachers and students fantastic experiences from which all participants benefit intensively.
Based on these experiences, the cooperation between the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart (HMDK Stuttgart) and the Hospitalhof Stuttgart was established. The Hospitalhof gives space to the festival week "Resonanz-Räume" to present the results of intensive rehearsal work of all festival musicians right in the city on a large stage.
A team of internationally experienced chamber musicians will be performing on stage together with our students. With our partners, the Mozart Society Stuttgart and the Society of Friends of the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, we find ourselves able to open an attractive showcase of our university's chamber music activities for you in the Hospitalhof.
