VVS solidarity contribution abolished
Starting from the winter semester 2023/24, the composition of the semester fee has changed as the VVS solidarity contribution has been abolished.
As a result, there is no longer a VVS semester ticket available, and public transport cannot be used free of charge in the evenings and on weekends.
Instead, there are other attractive ticket offers on the websites of the VVS and the SSB.

The Studierendenwerk Stuttgart has extensively compiled the options available to you as a student.
Here are the options in brief:

1. Students up to and including 26 years of age can purchase the DeutschlandTicket JugendBW. With this ticket, you can use all local public transportation services throughout Germany at any time. The ticket is available as an annual subscription with a monthly rate of 39.42 €.
2. The nationwide available DeutschlandTicket is available without age limit. For 58 € per month, you can use all public transportation services in the entire Germany. The ticket is offered as an annual subscription but can be cancelled monthly.
3. If you are a student and only want to travel cost-effectively within the VVS area and are looking for an option for just a few months, the Ausbildungsticket U27 (for 54.60€ per month) or the Ausbildungsticket 27 (65€ per month; 54.17€ monthly with subscription) might be interesting for you.
