Carolin Daub
Contact
Carolin Daub is a recorder player working in the fields of early and contemporary music. Her artistic practice unfolds at the intersection of historically informed performance and contemporary music, exploring new sonic and performative possibilities for the recorder.
As a soloist and ensemble musician, she develops concert formats that expand traditional performance conventions by integrating music with visual, spatial, and performative elements. Her work centers on current societal themes and explores new ways of listening by rethinking the concert format as a shared artistic experience. A central focus of her work is collaborating closely with composers, which has led to numerous pieces premiered by her.
She has performed with ensembles and institutions such as the Trickster Orchestra, Unblocked Orchestra, Bachakademie Stuttgart, and Stiftsbarock Stuttgart. Her concert engagements have taken her to Italy, France, Brazil, the United States, and Taiwan.
Carolin Daub has been supported by a fellowship from the Mathilde Planck Teaching Assignment Program and has received grants from the Deutsche Orchester-Stiftung, Deutscher Musikrat, and the State of Baden-Württemberg.
At the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, Carolin Daub teaches the recorder as a primary subject and directs ensemble studies.
