"Hock am Turm" - the summer festival of the HMDK

Once a year, in and around the university, a wide range of programs with over 40 events are presented on the stages of the chamber music and concert hall and on the open-air stage in front of the tower for a whole day in the summer: From early music to contemporary music, pop, classical music, chamber music, soul, jazz, and funk.

The seven-hour event marathon showcases a spectrum of education ranging from big bands, vocal and chamber music ensembles, to speech art, old and new instrumental music, and programs from the performing arts. There are dance, music, and speech art performances, as well as special tours such as the "different" architecture tour from the tower of the HMDK Stuttgart with a view over the cultural quarter.

In 2025, we celebrated a small anniversary on June 28th: Our twentieth "Hock". Stay tuned for what special surprises we have in store for this flagship event next year!
