Sheet music can be streamed with the nkoda-App. The offer includes the catalogs of Bärenreiter, Boosey & Hawkes, Breitkopf & Härtel, Ricordi, Chester Music, Faber Music and many more. In some cases, you can even find sheet music here that you can normally only rent (rental material).

All of the orchestra's concerts from the Philharmonie Berlin as well as the Europa and Waldbühne concerts are broadcast live in the Digital Concert Hall and can then be watched as reruns. The Naxos Music Library offers comprehensive listening pleasure from classical, jazz, pop/rock and world music via streaming and also contains scientifically relevant reference recordings. The MGG (Online) is the most comprehensive German-language encyclopaedia on music, offering in-depth articles on music, musicology and many related fields such as literature, philosophy and the visual arts using extensive search and browse functions.

Oxford Music Online is the full-text online edition of “The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians” (2nd Edition), “The New Grove Dictionary of Opera” and “The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz” (2nd Edition). In this online music encyclopedia you will find English-language personal and factual articles from the world of music, including contemporary music.

The BMS online contains references to non-independently published literature on music, for example essays and articles in journals, congress reports, commemorative publications, etc. For many titles, the database contains a short summary of the content or a link to the digital full text.

RILM offers comprehensive references to internationally published music literature from 1967 onwards, both in monographs and in articles, some with abstracts or full text.

With the RISM (=international directory of music sources), music manuscripts, printed music, writings on music theory and libretti from libraries, archives, churches, schools and private collections can be researched worldwide.

The EZB gives you access to full texts of scientific e-journals. The journal title can be searched using the search field. A green or yellow traffic light symbol indicates whether the content for our institution is accessible to you.

The ZDB points the way to journals, newspapers, publication series, databases and websites in German and Austrian libraries. It is the largest database for title and ownership records of serial collections worldwide.

The KVK is a search engine that simultaneously searches several library catalogs in Germany or worldwide, and also enables searches in digital media.

In the online catalogue of the Southwest German Library Network (SWB)  you can search simultaneously in academic libraries and other music university libraries in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony and Berlin as well as in digital collections.

The Deutsche Musikinformationszentrum (miz) is the central point of contact for all questions relating to musical life in Germany, from musical education and training, amateur music-making and professional music practice to media and the music industry.

At Musiconn you will find digital resources and services that are relevant to the musicology community. It includes its own research platform, numerous digital copies of specialist texts and sheet music, a free publication option and current information from the field of musicology.

The KDG provides continuously updated information on the life and work of 20th and 21st century musicians.

The people listed in the “Lexikon verfolgter Musiker und Musikerinnen der NS-Zeit" (LexM) (=Lexicon of Persecuted Musicians of the Nazi Era) were among those affected by Nazi terror and were or are professional musicians. As far as possible, the lexicon contains biographies as well as references, photos, sheet music and other information about the individuals.

The BMLO is a digital reference work of people in Bavarian music history.

The mica database collects up-to-date information on contemporary Austrian music. It offers extensive research options, for example by person, work and instrumentation.

BRAHMS contains continuously updated short biographies of contemporary musicians as well as audio and video recordings and analyses of individual works.

The Living Composers Project is a database with information on the lives and works of contemporary  composers.

The Archiv Frau und Musik is the world's largest collection on female composers and conductors from all genres of music. You will also find information on current concerts and events that fit the theme.

The Furore-Verlag exclusively publishes music by female composers. Here you will find biographical information on female composers as well as sheet music editions that can be purchased. The range includes music from all centuries up to the present day.

GEDOK is the association of communities of women artists and art promoters, the largest and oldest network for women artists in the field of music in Europe. Its aim is to bring the artistic work of women to the public.

The project "Musikvermittlung und Genderforschung im Internet" offers, among other things, an encyclopaedia on women music makers in Europe from antiquity to the present day. The focus is not only on female composers, but also on female performers, teachers, patrons and music writers.

The Internationale Komponistinnen-Bibliothek (=International Women Composers' Library) in the historic Nicolaihaus in Unna collects and archives works by women composers. The collection comprises over 3,500 media, including sheet music, tapes, CDs, records and music cassettes. The library's holdings are currently being re-catalogued. On-site research, visits, internships and academic work are possible by arrangement. As the International Composers' Library is a reference library, it is not possible to borrow items.

The library of the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg has compiled an extensive collection of links to databases and other digital resources relating to music, musicology, pedagogy and social sciences. In addition to other subject areas, you will find the “Focus on female composers” with numerous links to compositions and biographical information.

info-netz-musik is a database with reviews of books on music topics and information on musical life.

The All Music Guide contains background information on music albums, musicians and songs of all genres.
