Contact study

The Contact Study program is a continuing education program at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart, offered in accordance with §31(5) of the LHG. It is designed for advanced musicians who wish to deepen their knowledge.

The Contact Study program is organized under private law and is provided by the mh-stuttgart GmbH, a subsidiary of the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart. To participate in this continuing education program, students must have the approval of a main subject teacher and must be admitted as contact students based on an assessment of their performance standards by the university.

mh-stuttgart GmbH charges participants an individually determined fee. Although participants in the continuing education program are not enrolled at the university, they are entitled to use the university's practice facilities and library as university members. Upon completion of the Contact Study program, the university issues a certificate confirming participation in the continuing education program at the university's quality standards.

The continuing education program, by individual agreement, covers all instrumental and vocal subjects, conducting, composition, music theory, and musicology.

Private Individual Lessons

Private individual lessons are a form of the Contact Study program and are suitable, for example, for musicians preparing for an entrance examination. The goal of private individual lessons is to deepen the level of education to the highest standards under the professional and artistic guidance of the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart, or to receive professionally guided preparation for music studies.
