HochschulCard – student ID card
Student ID Card
The HochschulCard (university card) is issued at the beginning of studies at HMDK Stuttgart and is replaced only in case of loss or defect.
The HochschulCard is valid only while you are properly enrolled at the university and the imprint for the valid semester has been entered at the validation station.
A validation station is located on the 6th floor of HMDK Stuttgart, Urbanstraße 25, above the canteen.
What functions does the HochschulCard have?
- Student ID card
- Library card
- Room reservation
- Payment function in the canteen and at the copy machines
- Access to buildings at Willy-Brandt-Straße 8 & 10 and the opera school using the card reader
How can I load money onto my HochschulCard?
A money loading station is available on the 6th floor of HMDK Stuttgart, Urbanstraße 25, above the canteen below the validation device. Money can only be loaded using a debit card. Cash top-ups are possible at the canteen counter. Additionally, you can request an autload via PayPal at the canteen cash register.
How do I activate my HochschulCard?
You can activate your card for the first time at the validation station on the 6th floor above the canteen. The validation station contains a TRW printer (Thermo-Re-Write), which stamps the validity on the TRW strip of your card. You must validate your HochschulCard at the beginning of each semester to have the current semester displayed on the card. The HochschulCard can only be validated after confirmation by the student registry, which is after paying the semester fee and tuition. For registration queries, please contact Anne Rabe, Room HG-09.34.
Slide your HochschulCard into the slot of the validation station until the machine visibly takes the chip card. During the printing process, the validity date is heat-printed on. The process requires moving the chip card back and forth within the printer slot several times. Only remove the HochschulCard from the slot when a signal tone sounds or a prompt appears on the display.
Also, pay attention to the messages on the display. If you encounter any issues, please contact Elena Argiriou, Room HG-09.07.
Where should I go if my HochschulCard is blocked?
Blocks resulting from wrongly booked rooms or overextended practice times are automatically cleared after 12 hours. You can arrange for unblocking with Elena Argiriou / Christine Janzen, Room HG-09.07, or Tatjana Fellermeier, Room HG-09.08, either in person or via email providing your matriculation number.
