Susanne Fromme is a qualified Dance Teacher and Franklin Method® Educator. 2013, she graduated as a Master of Science in Dance Science at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with merit.
Since October 2014, she has taught movement, contemporary dance and anatomy as part of the course of study Elementary Music Pedagogy at HMDK. Furthermore, she holds seminars in the context of musicians’ health and Campus Gegenwart, aiming to foster an embodied understanding of movement and the development of a dynamic stage presence.
Following her dance studies in the Netherlands, Susanne Fromme collaborated with mind the gap-Tanztheater in Cologne for almost two decades and later as director of Youth Dance Academy in Middlesbrough, UK. Her teaching encompasses working with children and young people, teaching and lecturing at universities and contemporary dance training at various state theatre dance companies throughout Germany.
She has been part of the team of teachers of the dance company Giessen and has been responsible for the practice and development of a cooperation project between the dance company and the department Familienpsychosomatik am Zentrum für Kinderheilkunde der JLU Giessen.
Also, she is teaching professional development seminars organised by Lohmarer Institut für Weiterbildung.
Susanne Fromme understands the conjunction of movement training and mental imagery as a fundamental source for creative and educational development.
Her teaching aims to foster an embodied understanding of movement’s underlying principles. By refining awareness of the body-mind and the purposeful deployment of imagination, precision and quality of movement are optimised.
Individual physical capacities and subjectivity of awareness are integral to her teaching approach that aims to support future artists and pedagogues to reflect their practice and vary their points of view.
