During my music studies in the 1980s in Berlin and Frankfurt/Main (recorder with Prof. Michael Schneider), then in The Hague and Utrecht (baroque flute with Wilbert Hazelzet and Marten Root), I had the opportunity to attend numerous master classes with the “pioneers” to experience early music. Above all, the legendary Frans Brüggen and Reinhard Goebel (Musica Antiqua Köln), who left the deepest impression on me and who have inspired me a lot over the years of my training.
Since 1991 I have been teaching at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts (HMDK), where I lead the main subject class for recorder and baroque flute, at this institute I have the privilege and pleasure of working with my students from many parts of the world and to guide, accompany and support them a bit on their musical path.
In recent years I have also traveled extensively and given concerts, mostly as a soloist and chamber musician, but also occasionally as a recorder and Baroque flute player in well-known baroque orchestras (Stuttgarter Barockorchester, Il Gusto Barocco, Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble, La Banda Augsburg, Frankfurter Barockorchester, Pocket Symphony Moscow, New Court Orchestra Munich and others)
Invitations to solo appearances at festivals, including the International Flute Festival Rio de Janeiro ABRAF, the International Chamber Music Festival Limone sul Garda, the International Renaissance Days and Residence Week in Munich, the Kissinger Sommer, the Rottweiler Sommersprossen, the Festival de Wiltz/Luxemburg, the Summerwinds Münster, the Usedom Music Festival - to name just a few of the last few years - still round off my artistic work.
In addition to my work at the HMDK, I was able to implement my pedagogical interests in numerous master classes and had the pleasure of working with young musicians in Western and Eastern Europe, North and South America and Asia, for example at the Universities of Osnabrück, Munich Conservatories and Augsburg, Uni Montevideo, Uni Belo Horizonte, Uni Porto Alegre, Uni Rio de Janeiro, the Institut Français, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Conservatories Minsk, Novosibirsk and Strasbourg, the Foundation Mozarteum and Goethe Institutes, as well as at international festivals.
