Career Entry / Professional Integration

In addition to the artistic education, during their main studies the students will be trained and prepared for the relevant professional experience. On the one hand they will have the possibility to take part in productions of cooperation theatres, on the other hand they will be practically accompanied to the freelance work. Within theory studies the students will be teached in basics of theatre management (professional organisation forms, calculation, financing, pitching, crowfunding).

The high degree of the student’s own initiative resulted in the establishment of the internationally outstanding contemporary puppet theatre festival »die-wo-spielen«. The students take over the complete organization as well as the artistic direction and also take part in the festival with own projects. The internal »Career Service« of our university provides various offers to the students for their career entry and professional integration.

Due to the huge network of international artists of the contemporary puppet theatre scenery, festivals, puppetry theaters and playhouses the students have mentors who accompany them on their way to the professional world. As manifold as the genre of this theatre is itself, the field of work of our graduates is manifold too. Beside the free-lance or engaged figure players, you will also find other specifications like performance artists, directors, designers for theatre and film, writers, artistic directors, video performers etc.
