The Unitersity Vocal Ensemble

    back to overview

Originally, the University vocal ensemble for students majoring in singing was formed from some of the oration class projects of Prof. Denis Rouger.

The ensemble, which now has almost 16 members, offers its members a means of practicing vocal work at a professional level. In fact the ensemble has proved to be a spring board to success for many of our students who have subsequently secured positions with many of Europe's top ensembles.

A number of exemplary projects in the practices of historical performance have been developed in cooperation with the university's own Studio for Ancient Music.

Moreover, our ensemble enjoys the benefits of permanent cooperation with the International Hugo Wolf academy. A recently released CD with the Giselher Klebes Härtling-oratorio "Warum hat die Sonne einen Aschenrand" was very well received.
