Each semester, an administration fee contribution of currently €80 for administrative services must be paid according to §12 of the State University Fees Act.

The obligation to pay the administration fee contribution arises upon enrollment or at the beginning of each semester, without the need for a fee notification. The administration fee contribution must also be paid during a leave of absence. Foreign students who are enrolled at the university due to a cooperation agreement (including the Erasmus+ program) are exempt from the obligation to pay this contribution.

The contribution to the Student Services Stuttgart is a solidarity fee that every student must pay as part of the re-registration process for a semester at the university. This applies even if the student does not want or cannot use the services offered by the Student Services (e.g. during a semester abroad or on vacation). The previous direct debit procedure is currently not possible.

If you do not meet the deadline for feedback, a late fee of currently € 40 will be charged. Without payment of the semester and tuition fees, re-enrollment for the new semester is not possible. Your university card cannot be validated, and you are not entitled to attend classes. You also will not be able to use the practice rooms. If you have any problems with fee payment, please contact us before the deadline.

The student services fee can be refunded upon deregistration under special conditions and deadlines for the respective semester. Further details can be found in section § 6 of the current fee regulations of the Studentenwerk Stuttgart.
Fee regulations of the Studentenwerk

In the field of teaching, it is stipulated in the study and examination regulations that you only have to pay the administrative fee at the university where the main focus of your studies lies.

With the 5th HRÄG (5th Higher Education Law Amendment Act), the second study fee for teacher training students is abolished, see § 8 Abs. 1 S. 1 2. HS Alt. 2 LHGebG.

This applies to all students who start their second-degree teacher training from the summer semester 2025, as well as existing students in teacher training programs.

Attention: no fee waiver for students who initially studied teaching and then pursue another degree afterward. ("study changers" from completed BA/MA in teaching to a different program, e.g., BA majoring in violin).
