Christian Grüny is Professor of Contemporary Aesthetics at CAMPUS GEGENWART. He studied philosophy and linguistics in Bochum, Prague, and Berlin, received his PhD in Bochum, and his Habilitation in Witten/Herdecke. His main areas of research are aesthetics, music philosophy, phenomenology, philosophy of culture, and semiotics. He is currently working on the different logics of various artistic fields and disciplines and the frictions, interference and transitions between them.
He is co-editor of the book series Ästhetiken X.0: Zeitgenössische Konturen ästhetischen Denkens, member of the editorial team of Journal Phänomenologie, member of the editorial board of Musik & Ästhetik and president of the German Society of Aesthetics.
