Guided tours of the organ collection - series

The Organ Tour

The one-and-a-half-hour tour of the organ collection offers fascinating insights into the world of organ building from different times and regions. All organs will be played to showcase the visitors the different possibilities of expression.

The Organ Collection

The HMDK Stuttgart is globally known as a European center for church music and concert organ playing. It houses the largest organ collection in Germany, which in eleven examples provides an impressive overview of the technology and sound world of the organ since the time of Johann Sebastian Bach. Every era and every cultural region has developed its own type of organ, and the university in Stuttgart offers a remarkable cross-section of these variations of the 'Queen of Instruments'.
