DAAD Prize
For more than 20 years, the DAAD has provided funding to German universities to award the DAAD Prize (prize money: 1,000 €) for exceptional achievements by international students (not including visiting or exchange students).
This prize recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance as well as significant social or intercultural engagement. The DAAD Prize is not a research award and is not intended for doctoral theses.
The selection of the award recipient is the responsibility of the university and is made by the Rectorate based on recommendations from the faculties. Whenever possible, the prize will be presented in a public and ceremonial setting.
Nominations can be submitted to the International Office by 30.06.2025, accompanied by a written justification (specifically detailing the student's social or intercultural contributions, including a CV) and support from the relevant faculty.
The award is presented annually.
