    VESPA (Verbund für Sprachenangelegenheiten) is a university language course cooperation program between Hochschule der Medien and Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart and Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, which aims at teaching languages together and across institutional borders.


    Winter Semester 2021/22
    German Intensive Course

    • will take place online from07.09.–30.09.2021 daily from 2:00–5:15 pm (MET).
    • following levels are expected to be offered: A1.1, A2.1, A2.2, B1.1, B1.2, B2.1
    • take place daily online in a virtual classroon at the appointed time. To participate in the course you will need internet access during this period and a laptop/PC with camera and speakers.
    • Registration period: 04.08.- 23.08.2021 here.
    • Online assessment between 25.08. and 30.08.2021. The access data will be sent after the registration.

    The Semester course will start on 13.10.2021. The registration will be open Mid of September.

    Summer Semester 2021
    Semester Course

    • The German courses (A1.1 to B2.2.) will start online on 24.03.2021, if the situation allows it, it is possible to switch to presence during the semester.
    • All German Courses are being held on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00pm until 5:15 pm (MET).
    • Additional Moodle will be used for advising individually and for distributing exercises
    • Exams are provided and monitored using Moodle
    • Digital editions of provided textbooks are being used
    • Registration period: 01-11/03 here.
    • Online placement test: 03/12–03/15-21. The access data will be sent after the registration deadline.

    Online Language Training with Speexx:

    The online training solution Speexx is now available at VESPA Verbund. All students and staff members of our cooperating universities have the opportunity to use this software without paying any course fees. Learn whenever and wherever you want – at work, at home or anywhere else you choose, and across multiple devices. The following languages are available:

    • English and Business-English
    • Spanish and Business-Spanish
    • French
    • German as a Foreign Language

    By using Speexx, you can train your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and text comprehension skills flexibly. Besides general language courses, business courses are also being offered. The courses are structured according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) into eight levels from A1 to C1.2:

    • A1 and A2 for beginner and elementary user
    • B1.1 and B1.2 for intermediate user
    • B2.1 and B2.2 for upper intermediate user
    • C1 for proficient user (only for English available)

    Foreign Language Courses
    This semester, we offer offer courses in the following languages from beginners to advanced level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.
